About the Impact Toolkit

Fragmentation in impact measurement and management (IMM) practices is widely considered one of the leading barriers preventing investors from fully considering impact information in investment decision-making. To begin to address this issue, the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), in partnership with leading market builders, standards setters, and other impact investing stakeholders, developed the Impact Toolkit to help investors further their practices by efficiently identifying the resources most relevant to their impact measurement and management needs. The Impact Toolkit is a part of IRIS+, a system that makes it easier for investors to translate their impact intentions into real impact results.

The Impact Toolkit has two primary features to discover resources. First, users can walk through a basic Explore function, where resources can be triangulated by theme, geography and whether the beneficiary focus is on people or planet. Second, users are strongly encouraged to customize their visits, and create personalized toolkits. This Customize function goes more in-depth than the Explore function, and is designed to direct users to resources that are fit-for-purpose.
